Seller Tips
Make the most of your listing and attract more buyers with these simple tips.
1

Write a descriptive title

Your title is the first thing buyers see. Be specific and mention your neighborhood while highlighting your best items. Something like "Hyde Park Estate Sale with Mid-Century Furniture, Tools and Jewelry" works much better than "Garage Sale."

2

Take great photos

Listings with clear, bright photos get significantly more views. Shoot in natural light near a window or outdoors, show your best items front and center in the first photo, include a wide shot showing the overall setup, and make sure items are clean and organized before shooting.

3

List your items specifically

Use the items section to call out specific things buyers search for such as furniture brands, tool makes, clothing sizes, and collectible names. The more specific you are the more your listing shows up in searches.

4

Set accurate dates and times

Double-check your start and end times before publishing. Starting earlier around 7 to 8am typically draws more serious buyers. If your sale runs multiple days add all days so buyers can plan accordingly.

5

Enter your full address

Buyers use the map and directions features to find your sale. Make sure your address is complete and accurate so the pin drops in the right place. Include the street number and not just the street name.

6

Respond to questions quickly

Buyers who ask questions are serious buyers. Answer promptly from your Messages page. Your response is visible to all visitors so it helps everyone at once.

7

Price to sell

The goal is to move items, not maximize every dollar. Research similar items online but price below retail. Buyers at garage sales are looking for deals and fair pricing drives traffic and word of mouth.
